Yumiko Yoshioka returns to Toronto to deliver a masterclass in Butoh and Organic Movement.
Discover the body as a site of memory, imagination, and transformation. Rooted in Butoh and Organic Movement, this workshop invites participants to connect body and mind through breath, flow, imagery, and improvisation.
Drawing from Noguchi Taiso, Tai Chi, and Yoga, participants will explore release-based movement, energy flow, and responsive physical listening. Through Butoh-inspired exercises, partner work, and structured improvisation, the workshop opens space for creativity, sensitivity, and movement that arises from both inner and outer forces.
Workshop includes:
- Organic and release-based movement exercises
- Breathwork (AUN) and energy flow practices
- Butoh-inspired image and character exploration
- Partner work and walking exercises
- Structured improvisation and choreography
