Casa de Danza is looking to hire three Stage Managers, one Lighting Designer, and one Assistant Set Decorator for our Día de Muertos: Day of the Dead festival in October 2026.
Stage Manager
(three positions available)
Job description: Looking for Stage Managers with specialty experience in site-specific dance performance to enhance the immersive aspect of the production. Tasks include: observing dancer rehearsals to support artistic vision, assisting with set-up and strike of technical equipment, and calling lighting/sound cues during performances.
Timeline of contract:
October 2026 – 7.5 hours in rehearsal
Tech day – October 30th
Performance days – October 31st, November 1st
*Must be available for July 15th team meeting between 10am-12pm (digital or in-person)
Rate: $1162.50
Lighting Designer
Job description: Looking for a highly creative Lighting Designer with experience in site-specific dance performance (outdoor and indoor). Tasks include: meeting with the production team to plan equipment rentals, coordinating and designing lighting for three separate dance pieces in three separate sites.
Timeline of contract:
October 2026
Tech day – October 30th
*Must be available for July 15th team meeting between 10am-12pm (digital or in-person)
Rate: $1200 flat fee
Assistant Set Decorator
Job description: Looking for an Assistant Set Decorator who will work closely with the Set Designer to decorate for an indoor site-specific dance performance. Tasks include: meeting with the production team to plan in advance, and supporting with set-up and strike.
Timeline of contract:
October 2026
Tech day – October 30th (6 hours)
Closing – Nov 1st (6 hours)
*Must be available for July 15th team meeting between 10am-12pm (digital or in-person)
Hourly Rate: $20/hr for 12 hours (total: $240)
