Casting notice:
Outliers Theatre Collective [www.outlierstheatrecollective.ca]  is a theatre company based in Toronto. We will be staging The Plague by Neil Bartlett (an adaptation of the novel by Albert Camus). Rehearsals begin in early November 2026  and performances run from Nov. 18-29, 2026. Both rehearsals and performances will be happening in Toronto. Performances will be at Small World Centre (180 Shaw St.)
We are looking to cast an Equity or Non-Equity, female-identifying actor for the role of Dr. Rieux.
(Dr. Rieux is the medical professional that is put in charge of dealing with the plague that is infecting the community)
Outliers Theatre Collective is committed to diversity and inclusivity in our casting and welcomes submissions from any female-identifying actors between 30-50 and any ethnicity to apply. However, we a particularly keen to receive submissions from actors who identify as BIPOC.
Please note that we are only accepting submissions for the role of Dr. Rieux at this time. We are currently not accepting submissions for the other roles in the play.
Outliers Theatre Collective will be engaging artists under the CAEA Artists’ Collective Policy (ACP) where all participants (actors, director, stage manager and designers) will collectively share box office revenue [a profit share model]. This will be our collective’s second production, following Life Sucks. in 2025.
