Telling Family Stories with Celia Lottridge

Families are rich with stories that connect us to our history and heritage. This online course guides participants in choosing, shaping, and telling personal or family-based stories that are meaningful and engaging. You’ll learn how to focus your narrative, select key details, and tell your story with clarity and confidence.
Instructor Celia Lottridge has been part of Storytelling Toronto since its founding and brings decades of experience helping storytellers develop their voice and understanding of story.
Improv for Storytellers with Christel Bartelse
Online | November 26 & December 3, 2025 | Wednesdays, 6:30 – 9:00 pm | $115 + tax (members $95 + tax)
This two-session online workshop uses guided improv exercises to help you build confidence and loosen inhibitions in your storytelling. Through interactive games and creative exercises, participants will explore spontaneity, authenticity, and presence while learning to take artistic risks and enjoy the process. Open to anyone who has taken an introductory storytelling course.
Christel Bartelse is an actor, storyteller, writer, and educator who has created and toured six award-winning solo shows across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. She teaches at Humber College, the Toronto Film School, and George Brown College.
First Steps to Storytelling with Ruth Danziger

This beginner’s course is perfect for anyone curious about the art of storytelling. Using folktales as a foundation, participants will learn the basics of crafting and telling engaging stories without notes. Each class includes group exercises, story practice, and supportive feedback to help build confidence and skill.
Ruth Danziger is a storyteller and multi-disciplinary artist who has taught widely and is known for her collaborative and supportive teaching style.
