The organization is a globally recognized performing arts company specializing in the creation and production of live, large-scale stage works. Its work is distinguished by an integrated artistic approach, placing equal emphasis on musical performance, movement, storytelling, and design.
Its repertoire spans early to classical works, while also exploring later compositions and commissioning new pieces that align with its artistic philosophy.
THE POSITION
Providing strategic leadership and financial oversight, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and operational effectiveness of the organization, with a particular focus on revenue generation and sustainability. This role oversees core functions including administration, marketing, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and strategic planning. The position reports to a Board of Directors.
CORE FOCUS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executive Leadership
- Establish strong, complementary, and effective working relationships with Board Members and internal team to ensure the creative vision can be operationalized successfully.
External Funding Oversight
- Lead and participate in all aspects of fundraising activity.
Financial Leadership
- Prepare appropriate regular financial reporting for Board review.
- Maintain effective internal controls related to all financial matters.
Marketing & Communications
- Promote overall strategies for audience development and engagement.
Administrative
- Responsible for all aspects of people leadership and HR practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with partners in the community, stakeholders, venues.
- Oversee all contracting.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior Executive Director experience in a nonprofit organization is desired.
- Experience in progressively senior roles in a performing arts organization is a definite asset.
- Proven success in fundraising.
- Strong financial management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational management skills.
- Knowledge of social media and data analytics.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Salary Range: $95,000 – $110,000
