Final Snowfall Theatre Collective is seeking four actors for roles in our Halifax Fringe Festival Production of “On Guard for Thee”, an original script exploring darker themes through fantastical and comedic storytelling. Please note this will be a profit share production, meaning any revenue made from sales will be divided evenly between all members. All auditions will be in the form of a self tape submission.

Characters to fill (submission links attached below with full instructions and bios on audition sides):

Conquest (20’s) – White man, unremarkable, charming and not overly stylized in a certain way. Tackles themes of white supremacy and must be comfortable with some physically aggressive moments/lines.

War (30s or Older) –  Indigenous woman, passionate, unyielding, emotionally mature and should feel like someone you can trust and who is familiar. Role has mentions of MMIW
Famine (30s or Older) – A father of two young girls. A business man with a split personality going from emotional and caring to cold and selfish. Must be able to handle switching character voices.
Death (Late Teens) – First generation young woman (POC preferred, open to all). Gen-Z, alternative, confrontational, hopeful and deals with conversations around death and is a more physically active role throughout the show.

Actors from all experience levels are encouraged and welcomed.

We prefer candidates based in Halifax or able to be physically present for the full rehearsal and performance period. We will meet remotely on occasion until August but as of the rehearsal period, we will be in person. If you are not located in Halifax, please note the production will not be providing a stipend for travel or accommodation.

A two week intensive rehearsal block will begin on August 20 in Halifax, leading into performances September 3–13th

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT IS MAY 25th@ 5:00pm EST. There will be no callbacks*

Synopsis: Canada has been overthrown by political extremists. The government has fallen, access to resources are scarce. Somewhere in the chaos, four people meet. A white supremacist, a woman fighting for indigenous voices and their land, a conflicted man with control over the supply chain making bad decisions, and a young first-generation girl—the future of the country—have been handed roles in apocalypse nobody prepared them for. When fear becomes the most contagious thing around, they wonder what happens when it’s all gone. A darkly comedic fantasy about how we love and struggle on the land we call home, wondering what we owe it in the end.

We are so appreciative of your interest and cannot wait to watch your auditions and get to know you. If you have any questions, feel free to email us!
