Join us for a free youth theatre workshop Sunday June 14th!

As part of Guild Festival Theatre’s Youth Engagement Scarborough Initiative, we invite youth ages 13-30 who are enthusiastic about the performing arts to a free clowning workshop on Sunday June 14th from 3pm-5pm at Nightwood Theatre’s 877 Yonge St studio space.

Youth participants will explore theatrical clowning, comedy/improv, & comedic Shakespeare basics, working with professional artists and arts educators from Panoply Theatre Collective. Participants will then have the opportunity to see a preview excerpt of Panoply’s upcoming Toronto Fringe show Clowns Reading Shakespeare (TO Fringe KidsFest June 30th-July 12th) and will have the chance to participate in an open forum Q&A at the end of the session. Light snacks and keepsake clown noses provided!

We hope to open doors for youth to engage with theatrical performance both as potential Toronto Fringe audience members and as potential future creators themselves. We look forward to connecting young arts enthusiasts with the Toronto Fringe! Open to performers/community members of all levels, ages 13-30.

Register for this free event by June 13th by emailing Paige Madsen at paige@panoplycollective.com. Space is limited, register ASAP. Please let us know about any access needs our team should be aware of. More info at www.panoplycollective.com/yes-workshop
