About Staging Better Futures / Mettre en scène de meilleurs avenirs (SBF/MSMA). SBF/MSMA is a Canada-wide, cross-sectoral partnership addressing colonialism, racism, ableism, gender-based discrimination, and linguistic minoritization in post-secondary theatre education. SBF/MSMA aims to make systemic change using an intersectional feminist, relational, and community-driven approach. The bilingual project involves more than 90 individuals across Canada. Participants include colleges, universities, theatre companies, and professional arts organisations.

JOB DETAILS:

Description: Assistance with the completion of tasks advancing the intervention of SBF/MSMA’s Canada-wide Indigenous Education Cluster, including:
1. Identifying and liaising with Indigenous artists and educators across Canada.
2. Creating annotated bibliographies and literature reviews on decolonial pedagogies across Canada.
3. Supporting the development of grant applications.
4. Additional administrative support as possible.

Biweekly meetings with the supervisor(s).

Monthly collaborative meetings with fellow SBF/MSMA RAs.

Beginning and end dates : May 30th-September 31st, 2026
Total hours : 120 hrs

Salary: $22.50/hour with BA completed  Total salary : $2,700 OR $27.50 with MA completed Total salary : $3,300

Online. Brock University.

Language of work: English (English and French if possible)

Desired strengths and skills:
● A high level of detail-orientation and organization.
● Experience working with Indigenous communities and/or Indigenous topics; preference will be given to qualified Indigenous applicants.
● The ability to read, comprehend, and synthesize complex theoretical articles and book chapters.
● An investment in and knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
● Independence, curiosity, and proactivity.
● Ability to collaborate well with colleagues.
● An interest in or knowledge about the theatre and performing arts, or theatre education.

Other: Flexible schedule. Possibility of renewal.
