Deadline: August 16

Less than two weeks remain until the August 16 nominations deadline for our Neighbourhood Arts Network’s Community Arts Award and Toronto Arts Foundation’s inaugural Indigenous Artist Award.

A $10,000 cash prize, our Community Arts Award is generously sponsored by MOD Developments Inc., and celebrates an artist who has made a significant contribution in Toronto by working with, in and for, communities, creating access and inclusion to arts and culture. To be eligible for the award, all nominees must demonstrate a commitment and/or focus on community-engaged arts and access to arts and culture in Toronto. The nominee may not be awarded more than one Toronto Arts Foundation award within any given year.

Visit Toronto Arts Foundation’s Nomination portal here to nominate for the Community Arts Award.

Developed in partnership with K.M. Hunter Foundation, and after meaningful consultations with the Indigenous community, the Indigenous Artist Award seeks to recognize the achievements of an Indigenous artist or artist collective that has contributed to the cultural life of Toronto. A $20,000 cash prize, with professional artist mentor/Elder or mentee/protégée designated by the Award Recipient to receive $5,000, the award is open to Indigenous professional artist or artist collectives working in traditional or contemporary practices.
