This October, The Indie Stage is going After Dark.
Hosted by Bird On Stage Productions, The Indie Stage is a curated performance night dedicated to giving Toronto’s independent artists a place to share their work, try something new, meet other creators, and get onstage in front of a supportive audience.
We’re looking for work inspired by the spooky, scary, haunting, eerie, dark, strange, or supernatural.
Bring us your haunting song, chilling scene, darkest comedy, eerie movement piece, creepy character, unsettling story, or your strange little creation that doesn’t fit neatly into any category.
How you interpret After Dark is entirely up to you. Get creative. Give us something we won’t forget.
WE’RE SEEKING:
- Theatre
- Stand Up
- Music
- Poetry & Spoken Word
- Dance
- Drag
- Storytelling
- Performance Art
- Magic, Circus & Variety
- Clown
- Artistic work of just about any kind
If you can fit it into five minutes, we want to hear about it.
15 ARTISTS. 5 MINUTES EACH. ONE STAGE.
Whether you perform solo or with a group, each selected artist receives five minutes to make the stage their own.
Indie Stage is an artist-first event. There are no application fees and no pay-to-play. Artists are selected through a short application process so we can build a lineup featuring an exciting mix of disciplines, voices, and performances.
IF SELECTED, PERFORMERS RECEIVE:
A curated 5-minute performance slot
Completely free participation
Promotion across Bird On Stage’s social media
The opportunity to share your work with a new audience
A chance to meet artists and potential collaborators from across Toronto
A place in a growing community of artists supporting artists
This is a non-paid performance opportunity. Indie Stage exists to provide an accessible platform where independent artists can perform and connect without having to pay for the opportunity to take the stage.
