Toronto’s funding agency for the arts, Toronto Arts Council (TAC) and its affiliate city-wide charity for the arts, Toronto Arts Foundation have started the search for their next Director & CEO. This is a joint position for a dynamic, tenacious and visionary arts leader and advocate. Anyone interested in applying is encouraged to do so.
In March of this year, current Director & CEO Claire Hopkinson announced that after 17 years she will be stepping down. December 2022 will be Claire’s final month leading the organizations. Shortly after Claire’s announcement, a search committee co-chaired by Celia Smith and Gaëtane Verna, with TAC and Foundation Deputy Director Susan Wright and board members Gary Crawford, Dr. Sara Diamond, Jason Ryle and Michael Sinclair, was established to begin the hiring process.
The Search Committee is committed to attracting a strong representation of applications from Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, thereby reflecting Toronto and Canada’s diverse population. The salary for the role of Director & CEO will be approximately $190,000 depending on skills and experience.
