Each summer TG offers paid internships in producing for post-secondary students.
Students work with the company’s producer on projects to support our summer programs and prepare for our productions. They are also mentored by the company’s producer to address career goals and specific areas of interest.
The Producing Assistant will assist with producing and community relations work for the upcoming season; specifically:
Assisting the Producer across all areas of producing
Assist the Producer in frundraising and donation acquisitions
Research potential new funding partners – foundations & corporate
Rehearsal room support for the SideStream Cycle
Assist with industry outreach for upcoming productions
Assist with preparation of education support material
Assist with maintaining company database
Assist with Special Event planning
Assist with managing volunteers
Assist with operation of the production office
Other administration and rehearsal room support as required
Person Description: This position is ideal for a candidate in a Theatre, Arts Administration, Business Management, or Liberal Arts program and is an excellent opportunity to learn and gain experience in the development and producing of new theatre, as well as office operations, connecting with the community and building an even better connection with local businesses and residence. Excellent writing and communication skills
Critical thinking, organization and strategic planning skills
Works well independently and in a small office setting.
Interest and knowledge of the performing arts
Min contract 8wk, 30hr/week, $15/hr
This role is funded by Canada Summer Jobs. The successful candidate must have been enrolled in a post-secondary institution in the past year and have the intention of returning as a student in the fall, and be between 18 and 30 years of age, and be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident, or have official refugee status.
