The Centre for Indigenous Theatre (CIT) is a unique national theatre training facility, offering 3 and 4-year post-secondary training to talented Indigenous students from across Canada. CIT graduates take important roles on stages, screens and within cultural institutions across Canada.

Founded in 1974 as the Native Theatre School, CIT incorporated in its present form as a full-time national Indigenous theatre school in 1991. CIT plays an important role in the theatre ecology, offering students an opportunity to be trained in both the Indigenous and traditional Western techniques, methods and canons.

CIT is led and run by: Rose Stella, Artistic Director, Celeste Sansregret, Managing Director and an Advisory Panel of six members, headed by Mae Maracle.

Artistic Associate: Centre for Indigenous Theatre

CIT is looking to hire a personable, creative, results-driven, detail-oriented Artistic Associate with excellent organizational and communications skills who is excited to contribute to the growth of CIT and the maintenance of its high-calibre programming by assisting the Artistic Director and the Managing Director in the areas of: program delivery, marketing, communications and development.

This is a full-time, one-year contract position with the possibility of permanent employment, reporting to the Managing Director and the Artistic Director, and working closely with the CIT team, including the Program Coordinator, The Community Outreach and Recruitment Manager, the Marketing & Development Associate and the Centre’s contractors.
