Shakespeare in Action (SIA) is looking for artists, arts workers and/ or creatives to support the following placements and organizations for their Artists Supporting Community Initiative (ASCI) program, please see below:

Placement: Unison Health and Community Services
Location: 1651 Keele St, York, ON M6M 3W2
Role: Volunteer Supervisor for food bank delivery
Support for the supervisory role must be: Reliable, a leader and most of all, anti oppressive and must be understanding to harm reduction. Volunteers for the program can have trauma, triggers and/ or live with mental health conditions
Responsibilities include: Contacting and communicating with volunteers before each shift to check-in that they will be available to support; unloading and organizing food and other items for weekly distribution from a large delivery bundle during each shift with 4-5 volunteers; monitoring volunteers to ensure COVID safety measures are being taken and to ensure each task is completed before sign out; providing PPE, garbage bags and other supplies to volunteers for work safety; and signing out volunteers
Training: One hour of training will be required with a focus on PPE
Start date and schedule: Every other Tuesday, starting Jan. 19th until Mar. 30th
Support hours: 9 AM to 1 PM for a maximum of 55 hours
Please note: This is a strict schedule
Fee for Service: $20/ hour
