Colorado State University Dance Program: The School of Music, Theatre and Dance has 36 tenured and tenure-track faculty as well as 40 adjunct faculty.
The Dance Program offers a BA degree in Dance and resides in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Colorado State University. With two full-time and five adjunct faculty members, the program currently enrolls approximately 35 majors along with servicing students from across the university. The dance program produces two formal faculty/guest artist concerts and two student productions per year. The dance program is a member of the American College Dance Association, the National Dance Education Organization, and the Colorado Dance Education Organization. Colorado State University dance alumni are performing, choreographing, and teaching professionally in a variety of national venues. Currently, the dance program is located in the University Center for the Arts, an exquisite venue for music, theatre, dance, and art performances and exhibitions. The University Center of the Arts is a nationally recognized state of the art 350,000 square foot facility, that includes a 550-seat concert hall, a 275-seat organ and chamber music recital hall, a 320-seat thrust theatre, a 100-seat black box theatre, a 200-seat dance theatre, dedicated rehearsal, production and research spaces, along with classrooms, labs and practice rooms. The University Dance Theatre is a fully convertible theatre that doubles as a 40 X 50’ studio. The theatre is built specifically for dance performances; the only such venue in Northern Colorado and one of only a few in the state. The dance wing also features two beautiful dance studios measuring 60 X 40’ and 40 X 30’, fully sprung Harlequin Liberty Panel dance floors, oak barres, mirrors, audio stations for teaching and rehearsals, grand and upright pianos, world percussion instruments, and natural light.
Colorado State University is a land grant institution with a student enrollment of approximately 30,000 students in over 150 programs, and a faculty numbering 1,700. The College of Liberal Arts, within which the school is located, is the largest college in the University. Colorado State University is located in Fort Collins, Colorado, a beautiful city of 150,000 located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, 65 miles north of Denver.
