Outside The March is currently seeking an Associate Director for one an unannounced works in development written by Gillian Clark - an opportunity that extends from the new play development stage to it's full production in the future. This will be a professional directorial role, running in conjunction with a tailored mentorship with OtM AD Mitchell Cushman towards an exploration in immersive and site specific direction.
We are specifically enthusiastic to receive applications from members of the IBPOC community (Indigenous, Black, and/or Persons of Colour) and equity-seeking groups (on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, class, cultural background, ability, and any other intersectional identities).
Responsibilities include: Contributing to creative decision making, working with actors on text and performance, dramaturgical work with the playwright and team, meeting with designers, production meetings, prep, planning, table reads/workshops, rehearsals, the creative aspects of producing unique to immersive work, and participation in several out-of-town workshop periods with partner companies across the country.
The Associate Director will be compensated on a full time weekly basis at $750/week for workshop and rehearsal weeks, with additional compensation offered for prep time. The approximate compensation for the first year of the position is $6750 (based on nine weeks of work), with possible workshops taking place outside of Toronto. All travel costs, per diem, and accommodations will be provided by OtM.
