Currently an employment opportunity exists in our Box Office Department for a Full time Box Office Event Coordinator.
Reporting to the Box Office/Guest Service Manager, this position will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating tasks and activities of the box office for assigned events.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•Coordinates all ticketing tasks and activities relating to assigned events including building, maintaining and updating events in TESSITURA Ticketing system; assembling and distributing event information to relevant parties; liaising with clients and internal staff; processing complimentary, consignment and special ticket requests, setting up automated reporting, preparing final settlement reports, mailing lists and preparing event evaluations as required.
•Supervises the activities of ticket sellers in the satellite Box Offices primarily on show nights including training in ticketing policy and procedure, opening and closing procedures, monitoring work and ensuring the satisfactory resolution of customer service issues, technical challenges and procedural questions.
•Responds to complaints, concerns and inquiries from staff, clients and the general public by disseminating information and resolving problems to ensure satisfactory results. Reports more serious incidents to management.
•Attends meetings within department and represents Box Office at event planning and productions meetings.
•Assists with phone orders, mailing list and any other Box Office work as required.
The ideal candidate must have 2 years of directly related experience. He/she must have excellent customer service and communications skills to deal effectively with the general public, internal staff and user groups. He/she must be computer literate, able to operate office equipment and have a good understanding of computerized ticketing system, basic mathematics and accounting. Good organizational skills and attention to detail along with an interest in the arts are required. Experience using Tessitura ticketing system is a definite asset. Some evening and weekend work is required during events.
