Two Planks Productions is seeking director for a play that will premiere this summer at the Toronto Fringe Festival.
Director will cast and work with six actors who will play various parts. Stipend and small percentage of ticket sales.
-Play is 70 minutes long
-Play is about the United States for-profit healthcare system, so interest in social justice issues is a plus
-able to commit to collaborating, responsibilities of directing as well as helping to promote the project between hiring to the end of the festival (Toronto Fringe Festival is July 4-15)
-strong leadership skills and talent for working with actors and bringing out their best while holding the cast and crew accountable. Must be flexible, compassionate, patient, easy to work with, as well as work for: those with a hostile and abusive mentality need not apply. While we value and respect experience, we would rather work with an agreeable and flexible person who is passionate about theatre than a long-time professional who is constantly difficult
-able to work on a very small budget, though we have an aggressive marketing and fundraising plan
-able to work collaboratively and respectfully with Toronto Fringe staff and volunteers and to follow their rules and guidelines
Please send cover letter, brief bio/cv, and any questions to: firstname.lastname@example.org
All applicants will be considered, but women, people of colour, disabled people, first generation artists, or older artists/artists who started later in life are strongly encouraged to apply.
We thank all applicants for their interest, however only those candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
