The Company Theatre / Intermission Magazine are looking to expand our team with an individual whose passion for theatre extends into the world of sales to become our new Director of Partnerships. Please read below for more details about the position and our company. 

Job Type: Contract position
Time Commitment: 20 hrs / week
Compensation: $400 / week

Job Description

The Director of Partnerships is a part-time contracted position responsible for the acquisition and stewardship of all monetary and in-kind partnerships developed between The Company Theatre / Intermission Magazine and corporations or other establishments outside of the organization. All candidates must have the means to work online from home.

Responsibilities

Secure and manage all Company Theatre and Intermission Magazine Corporate Sponsorships: 

  • Develop and manage list of potential sponsors for both Company Theatre and Intermission Magazine
  • Manage the creation of all sponsorship packages and additional communication materials
  • Work with Company Theatre’s Artistic Director and/or board members to present proposals to identified potential sponsors
  • Execute proper stewardship of obtained sponsorships, ensuring benefits are distributed accordingly
  • Attend professional development sessions on the topic of sponsorship, as provided

Secure and manage all Intermission Magazine advertising partnerships:

  • Connect with theatres and other arts organizations in Toronto and surrounding areas to inform them of the opportunities available through Intermission
  • Manage the creation of documents outlining the available partnerships as well as all necessary sales and communication materials needed to support the various partnership
  • Work with partners and other industry stakeholders to continually improve Intermission’s effectiveness as an audience development platform

Partnership Stewardship and Communications:

  • Utilize company database to track partnerships, contacts and proposals
  • Build and execute an annual communication and stewardship strategy for partnerships

Requirements

  • Passion for theatre and the performing arts
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Creative thinking and problem solving expertise with ability to self motivate and take initiative
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong skills in the art of sales
  •  Proficient in digital software apps and programs (ie: CRM platforms, Slack, Canva, Adobe)
  • Strong instincts for visual aesthetics and the ability to work with graphic designers to create professional, compelling sales material
  • Rudimentary graphic design skills an asset
  • Comfortable with data collection and analysis
