Mass Culture/Mobilisation Culturelle is  a collaborative initiative that strives to support artists, arts organizations and academic institutions across the country. The intent is to form a network, which, through research, will address cultural policy issues at organizational, sectoral, and governmental levels.

Job Description

Mass Culture/Mobilisation Culturelle is looking for a versatile individual who operates with maturity, enjoys community-based practices as well as fast paced and  flexible working environments. This person must enjoy being immersed in convening and collaborating spaces, be dedicated to connecting  the arts and culture sector nation-wide, and have an understanding and passion for cultural policy and the Canadian Arts sector.


·Detail oriented
·Demonstrates strong analytical, research and consultation skills
·Experience in convening groups, online and in-person
·Possess interpersonal, presentation and communication capabilities (written and verbal)
·Able to work both independently and on a team
·Exceptional leadership and time management skills
·Exhibits creative thinking and sound decision making abilities
·Problem solving and risk management experience
·Bilingual (English & French; Must be able to communicate in both languages)


  • Plan, coordinate and promote Mass Culture/Mobilisation Culturelle’s 20 nation-wide consultations over Winter-Spring 2018
  • Identify current arts and cultural themes and issues to identify trends and opportunities for research
  • Organize and maintain metrics and prepare periodic reports to Mass Culture/Mobilisation Culturelle working group
  • Develop toolkits for consultation facilitators and regional hosts
  • Foster strong relationships with arts and cultural communities;  regional hosts for the consultations and conference; executive team and additional stakeholders
  • Create, plan and execute promotional tools, project initiatives, goals and objectives


·Experience with online platforms (WordPress and Social Media)
·University/College degree or comparable level of knowledge in the areas (or similar) of History, Public History, Cultural Studies, Public Policy, Arts Administration and Education
·General knowledge and passion of Canadian arts and cultural policy

Hours of Work:
This position is a one year contract.  Hours of work are flexible and dependant upon activity, averaging approximately 50-55 hours per month over 12 months.
