About this position
- Full-time Start date: January, 18 2021
- Salary range: $41,000 - $45,000 (per annum; paid bi-weekly) and health plan
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week; including occasional evenings
- Location: 401 Richmond Street West (fully accessible workplace).
- During COVID-19 pandemic TAPA office is closed and all employees working remotely from home.
TAPA seeks an energetic, confident, self-motivated, highly organized individual to join our team in the role of Membership and Sponsorship Manager. Under the general direction of the Executive Director and working closely with the Dora Manager and members of the TAPA Committees, the Membership and Sponsorship Manager works to enhance the TAPA mandate to support and serve the TAPA membership.

- Tech savvy: Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Survey Monkey, WordPress, MailChimp, Graphic Design skills; and stay informed about the latest communications innovations and tools.
Membership & Communications
- Create and sustain an ongoing dialogue with TAPA members; and handle all membership communications, including ongoing recruitment of new member and host regular orientation membership meetings to discuss TAPA’s programs and services
- Maintain and update member data base systems, member forms, membership website
- Manage the annual membership renewal, including survey and analysis with ongoing consideration of (new) services and benefits for members
- Assist in the coordination and participation of off-site membership related events including but not limited to TAPA Trade Series, Arts Day at the City, Dora Nominee Press Conference, the Dora Nominees Toast and the Dora Mavor Moore Awards
- Facilitate the inclusion and approve Arts Worker Discount ticket offers to tapa.ca
- Program TAPA’s professional development series – The TAPA Trade Series including coordinating workshop facilitators, secure workshop venues and process online workshop payments
- Schedule, plan and generate monthly membership e-newsletter, the weekly Next Week at TAPA email; and TAPA Annual Report
- Coordinate deadlines, content, edit, artwork, secure advertising and meet financial targets in the weekly TOnight That’s The Ticket Profiles
- Coordinate deadlines, content, edit, artwork, secure advertising and meet financial targets in the two editions of the Summer Theatre Guide (May/June and July/August)
- Maintain, edit, approve and post notices to the TAPA Industry Listings; and the TAPA and TONIGHT websites.
Dora Mavor Moore Awards (DMMA)
- Responsible for prospecting, renewal and primary contact in ongoing stewardship of existing DMMA financial and in-kind sponsors
- Responsible for securing in-kind donations for DMMA VIP Gift Bags
- Coordination of artwork, deadlines layout and printing of the DMMA Souvenir Programme
- Responsible for achieving financial targets for sponsors and ad sales
TRIP - Travel Retreat Initiatives Program
- Coordinate TRIP committee meetings including distribution of eligible applications and creation of application overview to TRIP committee members;
- Coordinate and assess intake of all TRIP applications;
- Communication with successful and unsuccessful TRIP applicants
- Coordinate and schedule, twice yearly retreat dates with the Valleyview Artists Retreat and artists
- Responsible for prospecting, renewal and ongoing stewardship of existing TRIP sponsors
TAPA Online Auction
- Identify and secure in-kind donations for the annual TAPA Online Auction
- Responsible for ongoing care of donor organizations/businesses
- Coordinate deadlines, content, edit, artwork and online payment form for the TAPA Online Auction website
- Generate auction winner packages, coordinate signature agreements, payments and delivery of prizes
- Generate and update auction summary reports
The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) is a leading not-for-profit arts service organization that serves 164 professional theatre, dance and opera companies in the city of Toronto.
