Tarragon Theatre is thrilled to announce the creation of a position unique in Canadian theatre: a fully-salaried, two-year term as Playwright-in-Residence.
In addition to writing plays for production at Tarragon Theatre, the selected Playwright-in-Residence will contribute to the theatre community by leading workshops and courses aimed at youth and professional playwrights, participating in audience outreach and education activities, and providing mentorship to the members of Tarragon’s Playwrights Unit.
To be considered for this program, please provide the following materials:
1. A Cover Letter (maximum 3 pages)detailing your artistic vision, your professional body of work up to this point, and at least two proposed projects with development timelines.
2. A Resume outlining your professional playwriting experience.
3. A Script Sample (maximum 20 pages). The play can be in any stage of development. We invite you to submit the project that you find most compelling at this moment.
Select applicants will be invited to submit their full scripts and to attend an interview with the senior artistic staff of the theatre.
DEADLINE: All application materials packages must arrive at Tarragon Theatre by February 15, 2017.
