Deadline: July 29 2020 at 5pm
Project: Humanity (PH) is a socially-engaged theatre company founded in 2008. Based in Toronto, but active nationally, PH believes the performing arts can bring disparate groups together and help them listen more compassionately. We’ve become one of the country’s leading developers of Verbatim Theatre, a journalistic form of theatre that involves transforming original interview transcripts into ‘live documentaries’ for the stage. The PH: YOUTH arm of the company, operating in both high schools and the youth shelter system, has impacted the lives of over 19,000 students since we incorporated eleven years ago.
Reporting to the Executive Director and Artistic Director, the Part-time Administrator oversees some of the administrative elements of both the educational and artistic sides of the company. The Administrator’s primary responsibility is related to program management, though ample time is also given to financial management and production. Please click here to view full position details and to apply.
The Administrator will be compensated $20/hour as an independent contractor for 10-15 hours per week in a flexible schedule that works best with the Administrator’s other commitments. As Project: Humanity grows and COVID-19 restrictions ease over the next year, there is a possibility for this role to develop into a full-time position. The Administrator will start work the week of August 17th. Project: Humanity works remotely so candidates from the GTA are preferred, though those who live in the Eastern Standard Timezone may also apply. PH is prioritizing candidates who self-identify as belonging to equity-seeking groups.
An ideal candidate for this position will uphold and exemplify the company’s three core values:
- We believe theatre is a powerful way to bring together disconnected groups.
- We believe theatre can help people listen better and become more compassionate.
- We believe theatre can inspire active citizenship and lead to real change.
