Under the leadership of Artistic Director Weyni Mengesha and Executive Director Emma Stenning, Soulpepper Theatre Company is entering the spring with renewed energy and vision. Located in the beautiful Distillery Historic District, Soulpepper produces a year-round season of plays, concerts, musicals, festivals and partner presentations.

In addition to our work ON THE STAGE, Soulpepper is active ON THE ROAD (regional and national touring); ON THE AIR (producing concert albums, audio books with Rakuten/KOBO, and is co-Executive Producer on Kim’s Convenience(CBC TV); IN THE PIPELINE (actively commissioning and developing new work); IN THE FUTURE (Artist Training, including the Soulpepper Academy, a two-year paid program); and IN THE COMMUNITY (a robust youth outreach portfolio, including ESL in the schools, the Summer Youth Academy, and the CultureLink New Comers Welcome Program).

This May features an incredible line-up of stories to share:

Menon, Ellen Ringler, and Grace Thompson – woven together under the direction of Governor Generals Award-winner Judith Thompson.

And finally, the monumental Pulitzer Prize-winning playAugust: Osage Countyby Tracey Letts – an epic portrait of the modern dysfunctional family. Directed by Jackie Maxwell, leading a remarkable multi-generation ensemble of artists, formed over the past 20 years.
