
Janet is a Toronto-based theatre educator and artist with over 30 years of experience in playwriting, directing, dramaturgy, and adjudication. Following her retirement as the Head of Drama at the Claude Watson Arts Program at Earl Haig Secondary School, she has remained deeply engaged in the theatre community. Her recent works, The Delightful Chaos of Mistilla and the Motlies and 1969, were showcased at the Toronto and TK Fringe Festivals in 2024 and 2025, respectively. In addition to her work as a playwright and director, Janet continues to adjudicate for prominent theatre festivals such as the National Theatre School’s DramaFest, ACTCO, and EODL. Janet is also the co-author of the drama textbook Rattling the Stage as well as a proud alumna of the prestigious Directors Labs in Toronto and Chicago. This marks her second time serving as a jury member for the Dora Mavor Moore Awards, having previously participated in the 2019-20 season.
