Kit Simmons (they/them) is an actor-creator and art enabler. They often work as an SM/PM and aspire to be a Fight Director. They are Autistic/Neurodivergent, and a commitment to accessible and compassionate work process drives their practice. Their work explores ambition, shame, and personal problems experienced publicly. Their Queer identity influences the politic of their work, and their training has ranged from classical voice work to ballet to clown – a cross-disciplinary approach is at the heart of all their projects. They have been involved with a variety of independent work and worked with festivals such as Paprika Festival, Toronto Fringe, Hamilton Fringe, Alumnae Theatre’s New Ideas Festival, and more.

After graduating, they were involved in a number of productions as a stage manager, choir member, director, editor, and actor around Toronto. Through the pandemic, they focused on digital performance and acquiring online-centered skills such as editing, recording, interactive video, online stage managing, graphic design, social media management, live event streaming, and compassionate online rehearsal and creation practices. They continue to pursue acting and fight directing, while taking stage management and production management jobs. They currently live in Hamilton with their loved partner and plenty of houseplants.
