Scott Christian is a Toronto-based musical director, composer, arranger and pianist. As an MD, he has worked across Canada for the last ten years for companies such as Theatre Passe Muraille, Tarragon, Theatre 20, Neptune Theatre, The Charlottetown Festival, Sudbury Theatre Centre and the Thousand Islands Playhouse. He has composed the score for a number of original musicals including Hero & Leander and Through the Gates. His musical A Misfortune, adapted from the short story by Anton Chekhov, premiered at the 2015 Next Stage Festival, and was part of the 2017 Charlottetown Festival season. Scott was nominated for Merritt Awards for best musical direction in 2015, 2016 and 2017 for his work at Neptune Theatre. He was the musical director, arranger and co-composer of The Way Back To Thursday, which received a Dora nomination in 2015 for best new musical. Scott is a musical director and instructor at Second City Toronto. He is currently completing his masters in music composition at York University. Scott is an instructor and collaborative pianist at Sheridan College.
