PROJECT:  AN EVENING AT SEA – Toronto Fringe Festival 2024 Teen Category – St. Volodymyr Institute

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: ‘AN EVENING AT SEA is an experimental play centered around a mother who is Queen of the Pirates and a daughter who doesn’t want to be a pirate anymore, but rather wants to link up with La Françoise Funky an all-French speaking dance crew.  It is a tale of love, acceptance, and finding ones funkiness in a world of blah.

 

PROJECT DATES:

–   Rehearsals will take place between May 13th – July 3rd

–   The performances will take place during the festival between July 5th and July 13th in the evening

 

COMPENSATION: Profit share as per Equity’s Festival Policy

 

ROLE BREAKDOWN:

Stage Manager for rehearsals, Tech, and full run of ‘An Evening at Sea.’ 427 Bloor Street West M, W, F 7-9 p.m. May 13 – July 3, 2024

Rehearsals:

  1. Commit to showing up for rehearsals an hour before time to help set up the space
  2. Be the main contact for the actors supplying them with emails from the director
  3. Answer production questions
  4. Be in charge of the script at rehearsals for calling of lines, light/sound cues
  5. Manage rehearsal time for beginning, breaks, and end
  6. Help to reset space when rehearsal is over.

 

Tech:

July 2, 2024 – St. Volodymyr Institute 10:30 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: TECH

12:00 PM – 12:15 PM: BREAK

12:15 PM – 1:30 PM: TECH

1:30 PM – 1:45 PM: STRIKE

  1. Make sure actors are in the space on time and where they need to be.
  2. Assist with the lighting/sound cues
    1. loading them into the board and then assisting with a cue to cue rehearsal in the booth.
  3. Run through pre-show/post-show.

Run of Show:

  1. Point person for gathering actors before the show starts at an agreed upon meeting space close to the Theatre.
  2. Call lighting and sound cues for pre, show, and post-show
  3. Run Front of House
    1. In charge of Fringe’s in-house ticketing system – point of contact for any questions about this process.
  4. Manage Company Comps
