hub14 is an artist-run art and performance incubator. Our focus is interdisciplinary work as seen through the lens of independent contemporary performance.
Since 2004, over 1000 artists, teachers and community members have used hub14 as their creative centre for a variety of forms, including dance, theatre, film, visual arts and interdisciplinary experiments. Since incorporating in 2009, hub has given away 2000 FREE and subsidized studio hours to support artistic and community activities, as well as swapped nearly 4000 studio hours for volunteer work.
Coming off a landmark 10th anniversary season, artistic directors Aria Evans, Andrew Gaboury and Kate Nankervis are excited to begin the next decade with hub’s annual residency program.
Professional artists at all stages of their career who want to explore within or outside of their core discipline(s) as well as artists from a diversity of back-grounds and experience are encouraged to apply.
hub14 encourages inventiveness and excellence by granting free and discounted space so that artists may afford more time for process-based and developmental research.
As a residency artist, you’ll be provided with a blog, an interview, artist profile and video documentation along with support from hub14’s artistic directors.
