Deadline: September 22, 2019
Our Artists-in-Residence program is back, and is the creative catalyst you need to take your artistic career to the next level.
Last year, our Artists-in-Residence program supported 6 artists from across the African Diaspora with essential resources to augment their artistic practices, including shared studio space, customized professional development, a materials stipend, as well as the opportunity to showcase their work in a group exhibition. Since then, our 2018 Artists-in-Residence have gone on to do big things!
Desmond Miller, an artist-researcher whose process-driven practice explores themes of race, masculinity, archive, and the space in between, has since continued to showcase his work throughout Toronto and the GTA. Desmond is also currently one of two John Willard Fibre Arts Residents at the Art Gallery of Burlington. Congratulations, Desmond!
Shantel Miller, a Toronto-based visual artist whose figure paintings create visual languages that interrogates representational models of race gender, and religion, has been taking the art word by storm. Shantel has recently been accepted into a Masters of Fine Arts program in Boston, Massachusetts. Congratulations, Shantel!
The 2019 Artists-in-Residence application closes this Sunday, September 22 - don't miss your chance to jump start your artistic career!
