Windsor Feminist Theatre is seeking original work to present at the Greek Revival Festival on Pelee Island this Summer.

We are seeking an original performance piece derived from Ancient Greek Theatre to present on the first day of the Festival. This piece may use characters from Greek Plays, explore themes present, or use the structure of Ancient Greek Theatre (or all of the above)! The project that is chosen will work with the other project in the festival, ADELPHE to create a cohesive weekend. We are looking for people that have a connection to Windsor-Essex County.

Please email with your proposal by February 29th 2020 at midnight.

In your proposal please include a short description of your play/idea/concept, any relevant bios and resumes, a script (or script sample) up to 10 pages, and any videos of your work (this project or previous) that will help us have a good idea of your work and what you are proposing.

Project participants must be available July 30th-August 2nd for the Festival on Pelee Island.

Lodging will be provided on Pelee Island. This is a paid opportunity.

When submitting electronically to please format the subject line of your submission in the following manner:

  • Name / Project Proposal
  • Please attach your supporting documents (descriptions, script, bios, and resumes) as a single PDF File
  • In the body of your email please highlight your connection to Windsor

About the Greek Revival Festival:

The Greek Revival Festival is presented as part of the annual Stone & Sky Music & Arts Series. It takes place over 8 weekends in June, July, and August in a disused, fossilized, limestone quarry amphitheatre on Pelee Island. This gem of a venue boasts remarkable acoustics and flourishes with indigenous and endangered species of plants and animals, some of which are native only to Pelee Island in all of Canada. Primarily promoting local professional artists, we are proud to present many talented artists and performers.

This summer the Greek Revival Festival will take place on August 1st and 2nd 2020.
