Teenjur-Young Critic Program is a free three and a half day intensive that introduces teens (aged 15-19) to theatre criticism and other youth opportunities at the Toronto Fringe Festival. We will prioritize applications from folks who identify as; IBPOC (Indigenous, Black, People of colour); LGBTQ2S; Women and non-binary people. Participants will attend Fringe shows and workshops led by Karen Fricker (Professional critic at the Toronto Star, Professor at Brock University) as well as youth performances at POSTSCRIPT. An honorarium will be provided on the final day for participants who attend each session in full. TTC fare will be provided each day of the workshops. Participating teens will then present an award on July 12th to the show that represented teens the best. The deadline to apply is June 19th 2019.

July 4th: 1 PM- 2:30 PM Meet and Greet, book tickets to shows in festival

July 10th: 3 PM - 9 PM Workshop#1 -Creating fun and engaging responses to shows seen in the festival. Attendance at Nevilles Next-Gen Night (Performances by Youth from The AMY Project and Paprika Festival)

July 11th: 10 AM- 4:30 PM Workshop #2- How to write a review: Description, Analysis, and Judgement. Group attendance to a teen approved Fringe show, followed by artist talk back

July 12th: 12:30 PM - 8:30 PM Workshop #3- Turn your responses into fun multi media reviews and decide on a winner for the Teenjur Award. Group attendance to a teen approved Fringe show, followed by artist talk back, then attendance at Fringe 2019 Award Ceremony
