Theatre By Committee is now accepting submissions for its first annual Winter Play Project.
Two scripts will be chosen for the project, with four performances of the completed works to be presented on the 27-30 April 2015.
The Winter Play Project is a three-and-a-half month series of workshops with an aim to grow emerging works through the collaborative process. Selected playwrights will have bi-weekly dramaturgical workshops with rotating members of Theatre By Committee to develop their scripts (through readings, discussions, and in-studio exploration).
Theatre By Committee is a seven member theatre collective of Toronto-based artists. The company aims to create a theatrical laboratory for emerging artists that celebrates the unexpected surprises that come from risk and collaboration. Under the monicker Bald Monkey, they have produced a sold-out run of Evan Brown's A Tournament of Lies, and Christopher Durang's 'Dentity Crisis. They are currently in process for an upcoming production of Judith Thompson's Lion in the Streets.
