Shout out to @hipTIX_TO for allowing a broke theatre student to access dozens and dozens of shows for the price of a latte when I was in my conservatory. Seeing theatre was, and still is, the most important part of my education. Bring on the next decade of plays!!!

I took advantage of the hipTIX during theatre school before COVID-19. I was surprised to see not a lot of people knew about it. Apart from the shows, hipTIX was the only motivator in the trip from the Oakville GO to downtown Toronto in the freezing weather!
I have never been to a live theatre performance outside of seeing them as part of a class field trip. I was never given the opportunity to see a show as a child since I lived in a low-income family and we couldn’t afford to go or to find time to attend. I am grateful for programs such as hipTIX which help students see high-end live performance.
