COME VOLUNTEER WITH US! at OPEN SPACE: A WEEK OF INSTALLATION PERFORMANCES AT DANCEMAKERS

Dancemakers is looking for volunteers for OPEN SPACE, a week of installation performances that run from June 19 to 23, 2018 at its Centre for Creation in Toronto's Distillery Historic District. OPEN SPACE features work by Resident Artists Lee Su-Feh, who is showing the Toronto Première of her seminal work Dance Machine, and Antony Hamilton's new work-in-progress. Audiences can come and go as they please and also take advantage of The Dance Current Lounge & Coffee Bar. Here are the volunteer FAQs:
What are the volunteer dates?
Open Space runs from Tuesday, June 19 until Saturday, June 23, 2018.
What hours am I needed?
Pick the hours that are best for you, starting at 1:30 pm until 8:30 pm. A commitment of three or four hours will also give you time to see the works.
What will I be doing during my volunteer hours?
You'll be volunteering for front-of-house, setting it up and tidying up after the performances; making sure that audiences know where the box office, performance studio spaces an bathrooms are; handing out house programs; and making sure that things are running smoothly in The Dance Current Lounge & Bar and the studios.
Will there be any volunteer orientation sessions?
Definitely - we'll plan a time and date when most volunteers are free.
And the volunteer perks?
A complimentary Open Space ticket pass for a friend, and refreshments.
