Sirius Theatrical Co. is facilitating a Weekend Intensive presented by world-renowned Shakespeare & Co. of Lenox, Mass. Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, 2016 (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.)
Led by Dennis Krausnick, Director of Training, this intensive is an opportunity for actors to re-awaken and revitalize your relationship to Shakespeare's text with a Master Teacher and Performer of Shakespeare's canon.
The workshop integrates voice, movement and monologue work as participants explore ways to unlock the emotional and intellectual content inherent in Shakespeare's language, revealing the direct relationship between the actor and the text.
Friday, Sept. 30 (7 - 10 pm) - an introduction to Shakespeare & Co.'s aesthetic, an opportunity to shift gears and refocus through voice, body and memory work exercises.
Saturday, Oct. 1 (10 am - 10 pm) - focus is on the actor's individual voice and experiences which are incorporated into a monologue that the actor has prepared.
Sunday, Oct. 2 (10 am - 4 pm) - voice and body work, revisiting monologues, exploring how the structure of the verse might influence character and performance.
Tuition: $300 USD. 20% Discount for CAEA members and Alumni of some of Shakespeare & Co.'s other programs. Only 1 discount is applicable per participant. Contact the company for details.
