Actor/Designated Linklater Voice Teacher Sarah Weatherwax offers a monthly Drop In Voice Class for Actors & Singers,
2nd Tuesday evening of each month, Sept., 2017 to June, 2018.

Next class: Tuesday Dec. 12, 2017, 6:30PM – 8:30PM

Gently release habitual tension to free your voice and your acting. Receive specific, individualized guidance. New performers can develop their skills and experienced performers can re-tune their instruments in this relaxed, professional environment.

Focus this month: Releasing tongue tension & restoring soft palate responsiveness.

A tense tongue and/or a lazy soft palate will block the back of the mouth and send vibrations through the nose or down through the chest, resulting in a less expressive, less flexible voice. By opening that space, the actor opens a door to their own instincts. Shifts in thought and feeling are more easily revealed. Articulation is clearer. And all of this encourages the actor's ability to be fully engaged in the scene dynamic from moment to moment. Feel free to come with a couple lines of text to experiment with.

Where: Cahoots Theatre Company, 388 Queen Street East, Toronto. (Enter from Trefann St.)

When: Tuesday Dec. 12, 2017, 6:30 to 8:30PM
