Actor/Designated Linklater Voice Teacher Sarah Weatherwax offers a monthly Drop In Voice Class for Actors & Singers.

** 2nd TUESDAY evening of each month Sept., 2016 to June, 2017.**

Next Class: Tuesday, March 14, 2017, 6:30PM – 8:30PM

A unique environment, this class is both relaxed and professional in its approach to voice for the actor. New performers can develop their skills and experienced performers can re-tune their instruments. Each month offers a complete voice & body warm-up with a slightly different focus. Gently address habitual physical tension and communication habits to free your voice and your acting. Receive specific, individualized guidance.

Focus this month: Jaw, tongue, soft palate.

A tight jaw will block the free flow of vibrations in the voice. It will also limit an actor's ability with accents. If the back of the tongue is tight, it will bunch up and send vibrations up through the nose or down into the chest instead of directly through the mouth. And an unresponsive soft palate will block the back of the throat, the gateway for our body-voices and for full, deep breaths, big emotions, big sounds of any type.

This class will focus on ways to free up jaw tension, relax the tongue and increase responsiveness in the soft palate. We will even spend time with flashlights and mirrors looking at our tongues & soft palates !
