Fall Voice Retreat for Actors with Designated Linklater Voice Teacher Sarah Weatherwax
Friday, Nov. 6 to Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020
Enjoy an intensive learning experience in a beautiful environment.
Let the clean air clear your lungs, your mind, your heart.
Spend a relaxing, restorative weekend connecting with nature, developing your talent and having fun.
Even the down times at this weekend retreat will be tailored to helping you re-connect body & voice, thought & feeling, instinct & expression.
Plant-forward meals and snacks provided.**Dietary accommodations for those with severe food allergies and for Celiacs will be made. **
Participants will learn a wide range of voice & body exercises that encourage relaxation on the inside of the body even while the outer layer of musculature is activated. This inner freedom leads to an open state of body, voice & mind that allows the actor to be present, listen fully, be effected deeply and respond instinctively.
With a free voice, it is easier for the actor to pick up dialects and be transformed by text, character, situation. Each participant will also receive individualized text coaching.
When you leave this retreat, you will be a better actor than you were when you arrived. You will have many tools to continue to free your voice.
And, in all probability, you will leave simply feeling better about your body, your voice, your gifts...
A simple idea for a complex time.
