Friday, Oct. 4 to Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019.

At a waterfront cottage in the Kawarthas...
with a wrap-around porch...
in October...

Be one of the first to experience this unique actor-training opportunity.

Enjoy an intensive learning experience in a beautiful environment.
Let the clean air clear your lungs, your mind, your heart.
Spend an entire weekend developing your talent.
And doing little else.....

Includes accommodation and meals, Friday dinner to Sunday lunch. Gourmet, plant-forward cooking by Prince Edward County based chef Chris Byrne.
**Dietary accommodations for those with severe allergies and for Celiac participants will be made. **

Learn a wide range of exercises that encourage relaxation on the inside of the body even while the outer layer of musculature is activated. This inner freedom leads to an open state of readiness for acting that allows the actor to be present, to listen fully, be effected deeply and respond instinctively.

With a free voice, it is easier for the actor to learn dialects and to be transformed by text, character, situation. The same exercises that set us free vocally and help us listen in our moment-to-moment acting, help us with vocal flexibility and power too.

Each participant will receive individualized coaching on at least one piece of text over the course of the weekend. Sonnets will be spoken into the wind, stories told by the river and songs sung by the bonfire in the evenings.

When you leave this retreat, you will be a better actor than you were when you arrived.
And you will have many tools to continue to free your voice.

Fri. Oct. 4 (arrival between 3 and 5PM) to Sun., Oct. 6, 2019. (1PM departure)

Norland, Ontario. (Once accepted, exact address will be given.)

$700 & HST OR $560 & HST for CAEA/ACTRA members and current Straeon students.

Text prep details & packing reccommendations will be sent to participants once accepted.
