Two opportunities to develop your grant writing skills!

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 7-9PM - GRANT WRITING I: THE BASICS
This workshop will give you an overview of theatre project grants. It will take you through the basics of applying for these grants with the Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts well in advance of the next round of deadlines.

This workshop is great for:

  • Anyone who has applied in the past but would like to make sure they’ve covered everything in their applications.
  • Anyone planning to apply for the first time in 2020.
  • Anyone who wants to see if they might like to apply in the future, whether there is a project in mind or not.
  • There will also be lots of time for questions!

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 7-9PM - GRANT WRITING II: THE ART OF WRITING
This workshop will focus in on the writing of a project grant, and in particular, how to think of grant writing like playwriting. Together, we will be exploring how to create a strong grant throughline, as well as an application arc. We will also look at how to convey the scope of your project without over-burdening a jury. And much more!

The workshops will take place in downtown Toronto; exact location to be announced closer to the date. If you have any accessibility needs or questions, please contact us at producer@discordanddintheatre.com.
