Do you care about the climate crisis? Do you have ideas for implementing climate solutions in your neighbourhood? Are you aged 15-25? If so, this is your chance to enter the Young Ecovisions competition and work alongside young people from around the world and a team of experts in theatre, science, film, and education to make a case for the feasibility of your local climate solution!
The Young Ecovisions competition is the first event of a larger project called Sustainhoods. Winners of the competition will take part in the rest of the Sustainhoods project, which comprises of a series of free applied theatre workshops and a film. Mentoring will be delivered through six one-hour workshops that will take place online via Zoom at weekends. English will be the participants’ common language during workshops. A film will be created documenting the winners of the competition’s ecovisions. which will be streamed online in November 2020 as part at the 2020 Being Human Festival: New Worlds.

If your entry is successful, Applied theatre workshops will take place on the following dates:
- October 17th
- October 24th
- October 25th
- November 7th
- November 8th
* Exact times of the workshops will be agreed in due course between the Project Team and the competition winners
- 21st and 22nd of November 2020
* Exact times of the film screenings: To be confirmed
How can you enter?
Take a walk around your neighbourhood with your cell phone, video camera, notebook or sketchbook. Find something that is not environmentally friendly and use an artistic medium of your choice to document the environmental problem that you have detected. Submit this to our competition, along with a short text (100 words or less) explaining the problem and describing your vision: What ecological solution could you propose to address the problem? We will work with you to make it possible. Deadline for competition entries is September 20, 2020.
