Dramaturgy in Dance and Physical Performance with Ginelle ChagnonSunday February 26, 2017 10:00am - 1:00pm 509 Parliament Street, Studio C
What is dramaturgy in dance and physical performance? How can a creator use this perspective to help them to see what comes across to an audience in performance? As creators, we are encouraged to ask, is what the body conveys in a performance unique to this particular work and expressed in a way that cannot be done by any other means?
Through simple exercises designed to activate the relationship between mind, body, time, space, sensation and observation, participants will investigate movement in a way that refreshes their perspectives and their way of using the human component in performance. Participants will be guided through a process; to improvise on particular themes, to consider context in their work, to practice observing with acuity, and to actively exchange perspectives with others.
