Weekly Linklater Live Webinars to Benefit the Kristin Linklater Voice Centre:
An appeal from Designated Linklater Voice Teacher Sarah Weatherwax

The talented, energetic and inspiring Kristin Linklater passed away on June 5, 2020. The world theatre, acting and voice communities mourn her loss.

Kristin moved back to the Orkney Islands in Scotland after a prolific and impressive career as an actor, voice teacher, writer, director in North America and Europe. She returned to the windswept island of her childhood to open the Kristin Linklater Voice Centre, a stunning place where she had her studio and home, facing the rolling pastures with the ocean beyond, and a short walk to ruins dating back 5,000 years. Since its inception in 2014, it has been consistently busy with an international array of actors & voice teachers as well as local clients.

Designated Linklater teachers, along with Kristin's brother Magnus, her son Hamish, and three women in Quayloo, Orkney: Yvonne, Rena and Julie, are working together to keep this centre open. It is our hope that we can get past this time of international travel restrictions and once again invite actors and teachers to train at KLVC with Designated Linklater Teachers. Her work changed actor-training and the history of theatre forever. Her legacy deserves generational continuity.

Weekly fund-raising on-line one-hour warm-ups - Linklater Live Webinars - are being offered Thursdays at 11am EST by way of Zoom. Teachers are donating their time for these webinars.

I will be leading the Linklater Live Webinar on Thursday Nov. 12 @ 11am EST. The focus of the warm-up will be Warmth, Ease and Colour. We will trace a path for ease between the inner layer of muscles, where creativity lives, and the outer layer of muscles that guide connection with others on voice.

Find out about ways to help, and classes with Master Teachers, by visiting the KLVC website:

Registration is open now, until one hour before the start, and to anyone. The fee of 15 GBP goes directly to KLVC.

Please pass this info along.
Help me reach out to the great community of Canadian talent from coast to coast so they can join their international peers on Nov. 12, 2020 at 11AM EST for a warm-up dedicated to the life and work of Kristin Linklater.
