This workshop will immerse you in contemporary shadow puppetry methods and technology, and take you on a brief visit to the living traditions of shadow puppetry around the world.
It will be a hands-on day, focusing on the use of shadow in theatrical work: as fabricated actors, as powerful images, and as kinetic set design. In this one-day class, you will design and build your own shadow puppet(s), explore a number of manipulation techniques and light sources, and start to develop a short piece of theatre.
