Happy Spring from SIA! The sun is out, Second Winter is in the past, and we're launched two new programs!
Following the success of Kids Zoom Puppetry Play and Puppetry with Household Objects, we're launching Puppetry Level Up! In this 6 week course, your children will explore Th'owxiya: The Hungry Feast Dish by Joseph A. Dandurand, one of Canada's most famous Indigenous playwrights. Participants ages 9-14 will spend their Mondays (4:30-5:30 pm) building a simple puppet with household tools, rehearse their assigned roles, and perform for their parents in our final session! This is recommended to those who have previously taken either of our puppetry programs or have a little bit of experience with performance puppetry. This program starts on the 10th of May so sign up soon!
Phatt Al is back for more in Improv for Kids! A seasoned Second City instructor, Dora and Juno nominated performer, song and sketch writer and rapper, Phatt Al will lead your 7 -11 year olds in creating hilarious scenes out of thin air. This 6 week course is designed for both those who have experienced improvisation and for those who have never done it before. Running on Thursdays starting the 13th of May from 4:30-5:30pm, get ready to say Yes, Yes, Yes!
Finally, don't forget our Groundlings (Ages 7-10) and Nobles (Ages 11-14) Summer Camps, running in July of this year! While these camps are planned as in person camps, we are ready to shift to a virtual model if the need arises. We are following very strict protocols for our in-person camp, including keeping camp outdoors, halving camp from 24 to 12, and providing Masks and Face Shields to all who attend!
