This workshop is for storytellers, musicians, theatre makers, artists, and educators. It invites participants to explore how place is part of who we are, and to create seeds of stories to grow together.

This workshop is intended to:

  • hone your speaking/singing and your connection to stories/music
  • explore the connection between the personal and the archetypal
  • explore movement and sound and integrate it with storytelling performance

Attendees should wear clothing that allows for easy movement.

Tell Me That Story Again
Lindy Kinoshameg (Wiikwemkoong Unceded First Nation) introduce elements of Indigenous storytelling that encompass respect, leadership, and teamwork. Indigenous storytelling is deeply rooted in our connection with Mother Earth, Water, Plants, and Animals. Participants will be invited to explore these themes through the telling of their own stories.

Embodying Sound and Story, Word and Song
Mairi Campbell (Scotland) offers participants playful and profound encounters with story, sound, and movement. Dawne McFarlane shares a story from her Celtic ancestry and leads you in creative exercises to unfold and inhabit the story. Reveal your inner ballast and your inner wings!
