Pencil Kit Productions is hosting our second Women’s Collective Creation Intensive.
During this peer-led workshop run by artistic director Claren Grosz, women will be given the studio space and tools to explore and collaborate. Participants will work through pair, group and solo exercises to generate their own work using devised theatre techniques. This three day workshop will culminate in presentation at our Winter Showcase.
The goals of the program are to:
- connect emerging theatre artists with each other, fostering an environment of support rather than competition
- provide an opportunity to learn new skills and challenge the artists’ current practice.
- develop a creative language that will allow artists to generate their own work
- improve confident communication skills
The workshop dates are:
Wednesday Feb 21 10am-6pm: Introductions; Generating physical, tech and text based material
Thursday Feb 22 10am-2pm: Generating material; Building a through-line
Friday Feb 23 10am-6pm: Dramaturging a cohesive piece; Rehearsing for showcase; Q+A sessions.
Our showcase is taking place Friday Feb 23 at 8pm.
The cost of the program is $40.00. To apply, please email Claren Grosz at firstname.lastname@example.org with a SHORT statement of interest including your current artistic focus and what you hope to gain from the workshop. There are limited spots which will be filled on a first come first serve basis, so we recommend submitting early.
