Writer and creator of Kim’s Convenience (Toronto Fringe New Play Contest Winner, 2011) INS CHOI will lead emerging playwrights through the process of writing for television, answering questions along the way and sharing experiences gleaned from writing Season One of Kim’s Convenience on CBC.

INS CHOI is an actor and a writer who was born in South Korea, grew up in Scarborough and now lives in Toronto with his wife and 2 children. He has performed with theatre companies such as the Stratford Festival, fu-GEN and Soulpepper. His inaugural, award-winning play, Kim's Convenience , was first produced at the 2011 Toronto Fringe Festival, then toured with Soulpepper across Canada, was published by House of Anansi Press and is currently enjoying its first season as a TV show on CBC - Tuesdays at 9pm (Soulpepper/Thunderbird Films). Ins has also been involved in the creation of such plays as (re)birth: e.e. cummings in song, Alligator Pie and Subway Stations of the Cross.
