Toronto Election Day is One Week Today: Monday, October 24, 2022
VOTE! Arts and Culture have a proven impact on livability, social cohesion and integration, helping to make Toronto a healthy city. TAPA believes that how we support and achieve a new Culture Plan as we transition from the pandemic is critical, in particular around issues of affordable and sustainable creation spaces. The Mayor, 25 city councillors and 39 school trustees across Toronto’s four school boards will be elected on Monday October 24, 2022 and Election Day Polls are open from 10:0am – 8:00pm at 50 different locations across Toronto, two in each ward. More info for voting can be found here.
ArtsVote is a coalition of non-partisan volunteers, working to elect candidates who support he arts in the election. TAPA encourages all our members to visit the ArtsVote website and read the ArtsVote Toronto 2022 Report Card.
PARTICIPATE!: We know you care about arts and culture – but do your Mayor and City Councillors know why?
We’re asking artists, artsworkers, and arts supporters to share on Instagram or Twitter your answer to the question, What do you ArtsVote for? to show that arts and culture touch the lives of all Torontonians, and we take it seriously when we cast our ballots.
Have you lost work during the pandemic? Did the arts get you through lockdown, or maybe you missed live performance? Do you ArtsVote for a beautiful, accessible city? For job opportunities? For student activity programs? For a fun Saturday night in Toronto? To hear untold stories?
